Just under half a million people live in Sonoma County. 1,287 of them face the challenges of this life-threatening illness every day. Treatments for AIDS and HIV disease have improved; there is still no cure, and no vaccine.
There is no particular “kind of person” who gets HIV disease, and public health experts,and the Centers for Disease Control, state that for every four people with an HIV diagnosis there is one who has the disease and doesn’t know it.
What can you do? Get tested.
