I usually read more than one book at a time. I almost always have a book in the car. I have two by my chair; one in my bag to take to work, and one or two by the bed. Usually they are different kinds of books, though; like Ghost Story and Antigone by the chair, for example.
Over the weekend I started A Guile of Dragons, by James Enge. It’s a book I’m reviewing for Fanlit. It’s thoroughly enjoyable. I’m more than halfway through it, and it’s suspenseful, original, refreshing.
Then, yesterday, I picked up Aloha From Hell, by Richard Kadrey. This is the third Sandman Slim novel — Los Angeles-style urban fantasy that is a cross between Jim Butcher and the punk band X.
Um, okay, just… don’t go anywhere, Guile of Dragons, ’cause I’ll get back to you. Really. I will. Soon.
I’ve long been jealous of people with the book-jumping ability. It has always eluded me.
