–I’m thankful for my feet. They aren’t special, or especially pretty, but they’re always there for me. I walk, although not as much as I could, and when I’m at the bookstore I’m usually on my feet. They put up with a lot.
–I’m thankful for my husband.
–I’m thankful for my friends; my neighborhood friends, my far-flung friends, my friends who meet me for writing dates, my photo-safari friends, my family friends, my Facebook friends who cheer me up, my review site friends who make me think, my friends who make me laugh and my friends who save me from computer disasters.
–I’m thankful for the glorious fall colors; golds, crimsons and coppers, glowing like lamps.
–I’m thankful for wonderful writers, especially those who published amazing books this year. Here are a few: Naomi Novik (Uprooted); Scott Hawkins (The Library at Mount Char); Ann Leckie (Ancillary Mercy); Stacy Schiff (The Witches); Genevieve Valentine (Persona); Charles E. Gannon (Raising Caine), to list a few.
–I’m thankful that I can afford bags of scrap grain and nuts for the birds and squirrels in the back yard.
–I’m thankful for the birds and squirrels in the backyard – hours of entertainment!
–I’m thankful for my camera, and I’m thankful for myriad of photo opportunities in my area.
–I’m thankful for retirement. It means my time is my own – I can make my own schedule and choose my own projects.
–I’m thankful for the NASA Digest. It’s an e-mail you can get daily, with awesome photos and fantastic facts about our earth, our solar system and beyond.
–I’m thankful for my car. It’s reliable, it’s safe and it’s economical. I’m thankful for my great mechanics at R’s Automotive who keep it going, and the folks at Mendocino Carwash who keep it clean and sparkling.
–I’m thankful beyond words for Peter Capaldi as Doctor Who!
–I’m still thankful for chocolate.
Well done!
